Our Work

Engagement

Among other initiatives, we work with state legislatures to pass challenge-proof bills that align with the First Amendment to fight anti-Semitism on college campuses and in other arenas using the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition as a consensus-driven basis.

We also work with other groups and law firms as appropriate in an effort to identify and quash anti-Semitic manifestations, including the subtle ones that violate existing law and policy, while enshrining in the law additional protections for Jewish citizens and Israeli interests.

Education

Among other initiatives we provide CLE courses for lawyers around the country on the use of the law to fight back against anti-Semitism; run an externship program/law clinic to give students a well-organized, in-depth understanding of international law and the law of war as it relates the founding of the State of Israel and Israel’s right to self-defense; train students to advocate for state, local, and federal adoption of the IHRA Definition of anti-Semitism; provide courses to educate the greater Jewish community and the public (including graduate, professional, collegiate, and pre-collegiate students, scholars, lawmakers, diplomats, Jewish and non-Jewish clergy, and youth groups) as to the right of Jewish citizens to be free from discrimination; and we work with national church groups to go into faith communities and teach evangelical pastors and clergy about anti-Semitism. This includes adult education with child-care provided; youth education opportunities; Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), etc. We also produce aspects of curriculum and on-line courses, MOOCs, and webinars as appropriate pertaining to anti-Semitism, modern Israeli history, society, politics, and law for learners and professionals; graduate, college and pre-collegiate students; and for youth groups and the staff and teachers that guide and educate them.

Advocacy

Among other initiatives we provide a center for research and strategic litigation support for those who need it (e.g., white papers,, amicus briefs, etc.); expose, through public and academic scholarship, the true nature of BDS and other related strains of the anti-Semitism virus: a long-term project created by anti-Israel activists that is designed to delegitimize the State of Israel, and the Jewish people, by any means possible; engage scholars, lawmakers, and diplomats, nationally and internationally, by assisting them in their work to combat BDS specifically and the de-legitimation of Israel generally, and by working with scholars in Israel, and elsewhere (e.g., course exchanges with Bar-Ilan University and the Inter-Disciplinary College at Herzliya, and other universities); and we train students to advocate for federal and state adoption of anti-discrimination statutes that outlaw discriminatory commercial activity based on national origin and ethnicity,  and to advocate for the implementation of the Marcus policy in Title VI, enforcing Title VI so as to prohibit discrimination against individuals of a particular religious background when such background is also tied to their race/ethnicity/national origin.
